Taylor Trophy Cornet
The Taylor Trophy Cornet is for the solo player. It isn’t built for blending in — it’s built for standing out. You don’t sit in a brass band with this horn and you don’t hide it in a symphonic section. You lead with it. Loud, dark, and rich, it bridges the gap between a regular cornet and a flugelhorn and doubles beautifully for smooth jazz where cornet is an acceptable alternative

Details
If you’re looking for the darkest, richest tone a solo cornet can make, this is it. It’s a tone-driven horn and not intended to be a section horn — it does not play well with others (and that’s the point).
The bore size is .460, and the bell taper mirrors the Taylor Balladeer, which keeps the whole design balanced. The Shepherd’s-Crook bell measures about 145 mm (5.7") — large for a cornet — helping create that immense, creamy sound.
The Trophy is the cream-puff cornet: super smooth, super creamy — so creamy you could almost play the flugel parts on it. If you long for that long-lost warmth of yesteryear but still want the extra power modern cornets deliver, give the Trophy a try. Think Hovis, cloth caps, a whippet and a pint of Watneys — that’s what a cornet should sound like.
